Like other products on the market, Cake Lace is spread onto a specialised Silicone mat to create edible Lace. Created by Claire Bowman, I believe this product is a must-have.

The designs listed below and no longer available but there are many newer designs available for purchase, please see the full range here.

The Benefits:

  • From start to finish your edible Lace could be ready in just 30 minutes, unlike other methods which can take up-to a day and a half to finish.
  • Once made Cake Lace has a sweet soft scent and can stay pliable for months without any kind of storage, no cracking or flaking.
  • To colour, you can add powders or gel colours to achieve a pastel tone or use an Airbrush or Spray to achieve darker tones.

The Cake Lace Mixing Process:

To make 100g of Cake Lace:

  1. Place 50ml of water into a food mixer.
  2. Add 4 tablespoons (42 grams) of Part A (powder

  4. Add 1 teaspoon (3 grams) of Part B (liquid)
  5. Mix on high for 5 to 8 minutes until the Cake Lace looks smooth
  6. Pour some Cake Lace mixture onto the mat and spread with the Cake Lace knife.
  7. Cake Lace can be air dried (6-8 hours) or placed in a preheated oven at 50°C – 70°C (10 to 15 minutes)
  8. When the Cake Lace is ready to be released, place face down on a greaseproof paper. Release with help from the knife.
